Testimonials

Chris,

I would like to thank you for the "world class" fishing experience. I've fished all over the world from Port Douglas, Queensland, Australia to Kona, Hawaii to Caracas, Venezuela, to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico to Ketchikan, Alaska... and no fishing trip has ever exceeded my expectations until my trip to Guatemala...

You and your crew are true professionals. I appreciate your patience and enjoyed learning how to fish "Artmarina style". My experience looking eye-to-eye with a sailfish is one that I will never forget.....

Chris,

I can't say enough good things about our fishing trip with you this last weekend. Especially day 3 on Sunday! You and your crew are the most professional crew that I have ever fished with. I think the remarkable thing about our fishing on day 3 was the patience you demonstrated while letting us hook virtually every fish we caught that day. It took a lot of coaching and I am sure it must be frustrating watching mistakes that cost hook ups.

Even with our screw ups, we still managed to release 20 fish, which "ain't bad!" Every fishing operation in the world depends on "the numbers". The number of fish raised, the number of fish hooked, the number of fish landed. You only seem to worry about the number on the anglers fishing experience scale. In our case, you pegged it out at the top!

We never will forget having one of our guys in the water trying to take an under water picture of a sail fish and having him come eye to eye with the damn fish, only to be gently slapped across the chest by the fishes tail as he turned away. One of many life time stories from this trip.

All of us are looking forward to coming back next year and look forward to fishing with you again.

Our “getaway girls’ weekend” was perfect all the way! Liz arranged everything to minute detail---transportation, hotels, dining tours, shopping and then Capt Kiwi took over the bill fishing for us!!! The Bertram 39’ is a first class vessel; the drinks (Liz had asked what we enjoyed), appetizers and lunch were a delightful and relaxing way to head out for a day of fishing. We’ve all had fishing adventures but to bring in 25 sailfish on our 1 st day was a thrill of a lifetime----or so we thought! After a relaxing Saturday evening in our “casa” (again, wonderful food and drink!) Chris decided to give us the thrill of a lifetime on Sunday. Simultaneously we were bringing in 2 sailfish---however, one was caught on a fly, which was the most unbelievable fishing experience I’ve ever had, and the other on a 20lb spinning rod. Julio stayed behind me to make sure the sailfish didn’t pull me in and the Captain followed and maneuvered the boat every time the fish took out line. Catching a 110lb sailfish with a fly rod is an experience every fisherman should have! We’re already planning our next trip---just a few additional days!!! It was, without a doubt, one of the most relaxing and exhilarating adventures I’ve ever been on!

Thank you for the Catch Report, on what I consider, my best day fishing ever. Thirty years ago, my father introduced me to deep sea fishing on the Pacific Coast of Guatemala. I competed in the first two sailfishing tournaments Guatemala ever had some 20 years ago, and have made well over 100 fishing sorties with buddies, on private and commercial fishing boats, but never had I experienced a better day than the one on Allure. A combination of  fabulous company, great weather, scrumptious food, and awesome fishing was heightened by Chris's hospitality, and true love for the sport. He was amazing with his briefing on the different hooking techniques, which we all immediately mastered thanks to his dedicated introduction. The mates were highly professional, very knowledgeable in all aspects of their job, and full of Chris's contagious enthusiasm.
I would like to thank you again for an unforgettable day out on Allure, and my first sailfish on a fly.

I don't know where to start, what a fantastic trip !!!  We had a tremendous time in Guatemala and it was all thanks to you and the Crew of the Allure….From meeting you for lunch in Antigua, to the unbelievable accommodations at John.O's Quinta Pez Vela, to the incredible fishing on the Allure…what a first class boat and tackle….

Capt. "KIWI" couldn't have been any better and Julio and Alex make an incredible team (not to mention the sashimi and Dorado burgers)..there was absolutely nothing the Capt. & crew did not do for us!!!.....even though two of us were familiar with sailfish, our first timer had the time of his life also and I know he will be returning soon….just like us!!!  This trip will definitely go down as one of the top ten trips to go on…Looking forward to seeing you again soon and we can't thank enough for your planning and preparation for our arrival…

Chris,

In spite of some slowish sail fishing last week we had a great time. The variety of what you were equipt for and your flexability made the trip great.  A four day trip including Sailfish, a Blue Marlin, a load of Yellowfin Tuna, some huge Dorado, fishing for Roosterfish, and the couple underwater stops for spearing Tripletail.....couldn't have asked for more.  Being able to swap out the rigs and take advantage of the Yellowfin Tuna was excellent, having some snorkel equipment and a speargun was great for the Tripletail. Of course the occasional Dorado kept the excitement going and the Roosterfishing was a nice change. Julio and  Alex both are great, good crewmates, very personable, great cooks.....It was like having some friends on board that had skills we didn't bring on board.  Of course my highlight was catching my first Blue Marlin, second in line my first Tuna / Tuna's, and spearing my first Tripletail.  I'll email you the huge Dorado picture when Fred sends up the CD as well as some Marlin captures after we convert from 8mm to DVD.  Hopefully we can get it all done in the next week or two.

Thank you for the great trip.
